A number starter to start 2020: Dot to Dot
Not exciting but a little starter for year 11 – things they made errors on during the Mocks.
Solution (I hope!)
UPDATE:
Used this with my Numeracy class (they caught sight of the patterns i’ve been drawing and loved them so wanted to try out this DOT-TO-DOT) and now they are desperate to try another one:
They have spent this half term looking at rounding, Approximations, Estimations. So heres a rounding dot-to-dot i made. The first page is the solution. Estimation
Another Dot to Dot but this time the focus is Negative Numbers Negatives
Heres substitution with Negatives: Substitute with Negatives
I’ve been drawing patterns and Celtic knots to use in these Dot to Dots and some of the students have been asking me to show them how they are created.
I wanted to add a few shorter dot to dots for my year 7. They enjoy them and two students asked for another one. I am conscious that some students don’t have a printer but I think if you hold paper to the screen you can mark the dots. As there are only 5 Qs on one problem and 10 on the other I think it’s manageable. Some students have been drawing on the ppt so I include that too. They then email me back via SMHW

Thank you for sharing these, they are awesome. It is hard to find some interesting ways of revising maths, particularly with the older students. Looking forward to using them with my classes. Thanks for sharing.
